Our resident string quartet share a passion for playing chamber music together. Alexandra now has a very busy freelance career in Europe and enjoys returning to our region to perform with the quartet. Iona, Mike and Gabriel are members of the Royal Northern Sinfonia, and also enjoy giving concerts together in the region. As a quartet their playing is committed, energetic, moving and gentle. PROGRAMME
Joseph Haydn Quartet in C major, Op 76, No 3 The "Emperor"
This work gets its name from the melody composed especially for the Austrian monarchy, so known as the ‘Emperor’s hymn, the tune of the second movement.
Felix Mendelssohn Quartet No 1in E flat Major Op 12.
VENUE
The concert will be in the historic Kirkharle Church and will run for roughly 1 hour.
Toilet facilities are not available at the church however there are some at The Courtyard nearby. Parking is on the grass adjacent to the church and at the Courtyard.
There are three steps down into the church. We can help if you have access needs.
