THE LAKE

Stroll around the serpentine lake.

Originally designed by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, who was born at Kirkharle in 1716, the serpentine lake at Kirkharle came to fruition in 2010 following the discovery of his plan in 1980.

Over 2,000 trees were planted with the help of local school children restoring a listed Grade 2 parkland that was rapidly deteriorating.

There is a 1km fully accessible pathway enabling year round access with information and educational boards along the way.
